Der Ausreisser

A personal favourite for many years, this is a simple card game of bicycle races. Play your cards to keep in the 'peloton' behind the holder of the 'yellow jersey' or suffer the penalty of being dropped. Then you need to pick up speed (play big cards) to work your way back and get rid of your penalty tokens.

Add in the mountain sections and headwinds (to handicap other players) and you have a lot of fun. Each round is fairly quick to play, but the problem is stopping: it's just addictive.
