Byzantium

The city also known as Constantinople and, nowadays, Istanbul – it just reeks of history! This game is set as the rule of the Byzantine Emperors is challenged by the rise of a new power: the Arabs. Players control factions both in the Empire and among the Arabs and play the two sides off against each other. Or, more exactly, against their opponents' factions! Players have to achieve a certain balance – but beware of the ‘sudden death’ ending that can ruin the best plans. A clever game that needs thought and planning.
