This is such a neat little card game. It's not very involved, but it works brilliantly. It's a hidden control game: players start by picking three members of the Politburo (cards). They win by having the card closest to Stalin (aka Comrade Koba) at the end of the game. The others will have been consigned to the dustbin of history. Or, more accurately, put up against a wall and shot.

Drawing of Comrade Koba -- StalinYes, the game is all about Stalin's bloody purges of the Communist party. Each turn, players get to move cards, put people under suspicion and remove them. Gradually the cards disappear until a final cadre is left. Chris Baylis describes it as "a new Family Business" and he's not far off the mark.

For 2-4 players, aged 12+, playing time 30 minutes: £8.50

Comrade Koba was designed by Anders Fager and published by Gottick
