Keyflower
Launched at Spiel '12, Keyflower was top of Fairplay magazine's rankings (" Scoutaktion" ) at the show. As far as I'm concerned, just the fact that it was co-designed by two of my favourite games designers makes Keyflower a must-buy.
The game is played over four rounds (the seasons of the year), each slightly different. Players must decide whether to use their worker pawns as bids for new buildings or as production workers on buildings – producing fresh resources and victory points. Managing your stock of workers is a crucial part of the game, it's only one part.
Keyflower is a fascinating, complex game that is very different every time you play. I now have the more recent edition from Quined Games – the box may be different, but the contents are the same, so this is compatible with other publishers' versions.
I also have the major expansions, Keyflower: the Farmers and Keyflower: the Merchants and the Keymelequin and Developer mini-expansions.
For 2-6 players, aged 12+, playing time 90 minutes: £28.00 (£23.33 without tax outside the UK)
