Leader 1

This is a terrific simulation of a cycling race. Players lay out the route for the race using the large hexagonal tiles to show flat, ascending and descending sections. Each player has a team of cyclists with different advantages and plans their race to make the most of these.

Key to the game is the ‘peloton’ – the pack where the bulk of the cyclists are. As this moves along the course of the race, players take their opportunities to break away while making sure they don’t get dropped. Leader 1 reproduces all the tactics and incidents of cycle races.
