League of Six
The theme of League of Six is tax collecting in medieval Europe. Luckily the game is rather more interesting than its subject matter. It’s played around the six towns of the title over six rounds. Each round opens with an auction, Evo-style, to claim what’s available from each of the towns.
Players use the resources they’ve gathered for player order, bidding next turn and goods that gain victory points, income and, importantly, “Civic Leader” cards that are worth bonus points at the end of the game. It’s a clever game, where players need to think ahead, but also adjust their strategy to what’s available each turn. Good stuff, but I only have one copy left.
For 3-5 players, aged 12+, playing time 60-90 minutes: £23.00
