Pandemic

Matt Leacock’s tremendous co-operative game is a modern classic. Players are scientists racing to save humanity from a series of deadly plagues. They must work together to find the cures and inoculate people all round the world. Occasional outbreaks spread the viruses further, so the players have their work cut out.

As a team, the players must decide how to balance immediate fire-fighting (dealing with infections before they reach a critical level) with the longer-term activities that will find a cure. The individuals must use their particular ability to the best effect. There’s a real tension in the game and winning is a challenge. I love it!
