Pergamon
A great new game by Stefan Dorra and Ralf zur Linde. Players are archaeologists excavating ancient artefacts and exhibiting them at the Pergamon Museum. First off, though, they need to bid for the funds to finance their dig. Cleverly, the more money they go for, the less likely they are to get it!
Each artefact comes in two part, so players then they have to put them together. Once they have a few artefacts, they can stage an exhibition – which is how they score points.
After playing it a couple of times, it gets 8/10 on my highly subjective scale – read my full reaction in my report from the 2011 Gathering of Friends (PDF document, 2.5 Mb).
For 2-4 players, aged 10+, playing time 45 minutes: £28.00
