Tinners' Trail
The second edition of Martin Wallace’s terrific business game about tin (and copper) mining in 19th century Cornwall comes from JKLM Games. The game remains the same as the first edition, but has all new artwork.
Players take on the role of a mining venturer, attempting to build mines in the richest areas of Cornwall. Their biggest problem is the water that must be pumped out of the mines. The deeper their mines go, the more water that needs to be removed. Fortunately, steam pumps were developed at this time, along with steamships and trains to bring in the coal needed to feed them.
The price of tin and copper will rise and fall dramatically and players must be careful to sell when the prices are high. They can invest their profits in other industries round the country, while keeping back enough capital to let them build new mines and produce more ore.
For 3-4 players, aged 13+, playing time 90 minutes: £25.00
