Turn 2

"Well, here's the first quarter's production of Super Isotopes."
    "OK."
"Right, where shall I have them delivered?"
    "Ah. Yes. A Good question…"
    "The answer is?"
"I'm afraid you'll have to junk them."
    "What?"
"We forgot to buy a warehouse and, after the way we've treated UNIVERSAL, no-one will lend us anywhere to store them."

Trading at Alpha Centauri saw TOTAL TRANSIT 2070 buying 10 Liquors for 13 HTs each and gaining a dealership. THE UNIVERSAL was offering Alloys at 7 HTs, sold 6, and also became a dealer, leaving KAT CORP with stock in its basket.

Gamma Leporis had both INTERSTELLAR METALS and KAT CORP buying Alloys. IM bid 7 and bought 10 and gained their first Dealership of the quarter, while KC bought 4 at 4 HTs to empty the stocks.

INTERSTELLAR METALS were also buying Isotopes at Sigma Draconis, bidding 7 and buying 8 and a Dealership, outbidding TT2070 and THE UNIVERSAL. IM also bought 9 Spice for 12 HTs apiece, another Dealership, and left THE UNIVERSAL and TSTI fuming.

At Delta Toucanis SHYLOCKS sold 3 Isotopes for 10 HTs. THE UNIVERSAL bought 2 Spice for 12 HTs. They failed to buy Petroleum, their bid of 7 being buried by INTERSTELLAR METALS buying 12 units for 12 HTs each and another Dealership. THE UNIVERSAL are reported to be checking their offices for a commercial spy at the highest levels.

KAT CORP bought 2 Isotopes for 4 HTs at Tau Ceti as the price stayed low again.

Mu Herculis saw SHYLOCKS selling 3 Alloys for 11 HTs each and then buying 9 Isotopes for 9 HTs each and a Dealership. THE UNIVERSAL was in the market for Monopoles but only bought 2 at 12 HTs each, while INTERSTELLAR METALS had the last word, buying 10 Petroleum for 12 HTs, yet another Dealership, and once again robbing THE UNIVERSAL of its trade.

TT2070 increased their Reputation and launched the Mogul and the DX Goods, equipping them with A crews and a mixture of cargo and light weapon pods - though further funds are required to complete the outfit.

NEWBIE had a quiet quarter: the corporation hired agent JB and increased their Business Connections. THE CULTURE are reputed to have taken delivery of a Battle Comm pod. They were so eager that they abandoned a passenger pod at Mu Herculis, having nowhere to store it. They then took out a 247 HT loan for 8 turns, and launched their Monarch hull, tentatively called "Life", and equipping it with plenty of guns: "Life, who needs it?"

GRAND LARS THENI & T HEFT loaded some passengers, but otherwise were strangely quiet. TAU CETI Express loaded their fleet TXC01-5 with cargo and passenger pods, warm bodies and, with the prospect of some return, negotiated a 556 HT loan for 8 quarters and improved both their Business Connections and their Reputation.

NEKEKAMI laid down a Corco Zeta Hull at Tau Ceti, the Fire. They also launched their two ships, equipping them with cargo and light weapon pods, and shuffled pods between the fleet. With a loan of some 340 HTs they increased their Business Connections and their Reputation

TRANS SOLAR TRADING Inc bought Willy from KATCORP as part of some arcane deal which seemed to be successful for both parties. They then laid down a Corco Gamma Hull with A grade crew at Epsilon Eridani, and this, coupled with an increase in Political Connections and Reputation, saw their standing rise.

INTERSTELLAR METALS recruited Clint - a worrying sign. They dumped their Isotope production at Tau Ceti, increased their Political Connections, bought warehouses at EE, MH, AC, and 2 at TC, increased their Reputation and found that their cash mountain had evaporated: the corporation could only buy 1 more Isotope factory at Tau Ceti.

BLAND & BRASS bought warehouses at Tau Ceti and Sigma Draconis, took out a 200 HT loan over 4 turns and bought an Isotope factory at Tau Ceti and a Spice factory at Sigma Draconis, while increasing Business Connections.

SWISS MERCENARY'S FLEET increased Reputation and Business Connections. THE UNIVERSAL increased their Reputation, as yet another advertising campaign rolled over the quadrant.

KAT CORP bought two warehouses, at EE and TC, sold agent Willy and laid down a new hull, a Phoenix, at Tau Ceti. What did attract attention was paying off their loan. Reputation understandably rose. Finally SHYLOCKS hired agent Poum and invested in Isotope factories and a warehouse at Tau Ceti.

Press

Drew "The Fisk" Vanderbilt-Scott, the "hands on" Chairman of Trans Solar Trucking Inc., declined to respond with anything more than an enigmatic grin when asked to comment on rumours that the Corco Gamma hull currently under construction on Epsilon Eridani was being fitted with a stealth device that rendered it undetectable by the standard security systems used by many of the less well developed planets in the Quadrant.

Interstellar Metals wishes to point out that, while initial production from their new Isotope facilities at Tau Ceti was not up to scratch, the factories are now in operation and fully meet the demanding standards required by the quadrant's leading trader.

GM Notes

It is worth sending in orders a couple of days late, I will use what I can.

It is acceptable to say "If my ship is at AC then buy up to 10 Liquors, if it isn't then buy 1 only". It is not acceptable to say "if my ship is at AC then buy 10 liquors". Please put your Corporation name and letter on the orders you send me - it helps.

You cannot buy a pod with a different crew than the ship you put it on - Passenger pods put on a ship with C class crew must have C crews. You can't have an A class crew, intending to put the pod on a different ship, with an A class crew, on a future turn.

An Augmented Jump pod does not count towards the number of pods a ship can carry. A Piccolo hull can therefore be outfitted with an augmented jump pod, a Corco Gamma Hull can have two pods and an Augmented Jump pod.

Factories produce in phase 5, the Opportunity phase. Ships hyperjump in phase 4, so you can't load this turn's production into a ship and hyperjump this turn. You can load this turn's production and jump next turn.

I didn't differentiate the two types of factories at Sigma Draconis last turn.

I thought I had some press but I've lost it.
