This is a heavyweight game in more ways than one: it weighs in at a hefty 3 Kgs (lots of chunky wood and substantial cardboard pieces, not to mention the sloping "Imperial board") and provides deep, complex gameplay. It is set in India during the Mughal Empire – specifically the rule of Akbar the Great – and players are aiming to make the most money developing and trading across the Empire.
This is very much a business game as players start by producing basic resources (wood, cotton...) which they can then use as the raw materials for more sophisticated goods (paper, cloth...). Trading and processing goods bring rewards, but it is fulfilling the contracts available that brings in the cash.
This is very much my sort of game – and any game with rules for curry has to be worth trying!
For 2-4 players, aged 12+, playing time 90-120 minutes: £50.00 (£41.67 without tax outside the EU)
