Keyflower: the Merchants
Keyflower was one of my favourite games of 2012 and this second expansion adds yet more depth to the game. Players develop their villages further with extensions and cabins, enter into lucrative contracts, and get new combinations of items on the incoming boats (including the eponymous Keyflower).
Contracts give more ways to score points, but can also be traded for the item shown. Extensions double the points values of tiles. Cabins provide more opportunities to upgrade and to build the extensions. Keyflower: the Merchants can be used as the basis for a game, taking the rest of the tiles from the base game, or as additional tiles to go with Keyflower and/or the Farmers expansion.
The quality of the expansion matches that of the original game and has even more of the delightful illustrations by Juliet and Jo Breese. I now have the more recent edition from Quined Games – the box may be different, but the contents are the same, so this is compatible with other publishers' versions.
For 2-6 players, aged 14+, playing time 90 minutes: £22.00 (£18.33 outside the UK)
Remember that you will need a copy of Keyflower to play this
