The 2014 title from Bernd Eisenstein and Irongames is set in the ancient Greek city of Corinth with the board showing buildings and other features around the city. Players use their workers to take actions at the various buildings: buying and selling goods, building workshops and gaining more workers, amongst others. One neat touch is that workers then spend a turn at the Baths, recovering!
Another challenge for the players is defeating the "Titans" emerging from the Underworld to threaten the city. Each player must build up their own forces to beat the invaders or take the consequences. there's also some scope to force the end of the game, giving players more tactical opportunities.
Panthalos is a clever game with some neat touches and I rate it highly.
For 2-5 players, aged 12+, playing time 75 minutes: £30.00 £24.00 to clear (£20.00 outside the EU) or make me an offer...
