Valparaiso

Another game that I missed at Spiel but have been keen to play. It's set in the eponymous Chilean port – nicely illustrated on the board. Players' actions are powered by card play as they acquire, sell and export goods. Along the way, they'll be picking up 'Achievement' cards that give them more actions and, importantly, ways to score points. And what do points make?

It may not be innovative, but it looks a neat game that should produce competitive results.
