Maglev Metro
I'm not going to pass up a complex new board game from Ted Alspach. Particularly a tile-laying, railway-building game. In fact, the theme is about replacing tired old subway tracks with bright shiny new maglev rails. And it offers two cities in which to do this – Manhattan and Berlin – with different challenges in each (like working your way around Central Park).
Players' actions, bonuses and points are both limited and powered by the passenger pawns they've managed to place on their own board. You get the passengers by moving your train to pick up and deliver them between stations – once you've built the lines to connect the stations. Phew!
So far, I've only played this solitaire and I'm floundering, but mightily intrigued to see how it will play against real opponents.
For 1-4 players, aged 14+, playing time 60-90 minutes: £50.00 Special offer: £40.00 (£33.33 without tax outside the UK) (or make me an offer...).
