Les Petites Bêtes Soyeuses

Points Arising for August 1676

Players' deadline for September 1676 is 28th April 2025

Note that the deadline is a Monday - the day I get back from this year's Gathering of Friends.

Next turn is the start of a new season. All characters start the month in Paris and all duels must be fought.

The new Military Appointments and empty Government Appointments will be filled at the start of September.

Players whose characters can make appointments should do so in their orders. They may appoint a specific character (who meets the requirements in the rules and house rules) or an NPC or may leave an appointment vacant. So, if you have applied for an appointment - or hold a rank - that allows you to make other appointments, don't forget to do so.

Any appointment that's not filled or specifically left vacant will be taken by an NPC.

As shown on character sheets, returns on investments will be paid out at the start of September. If there's a shortfall, it must be made good at once or the investment will be lost.

What, no deaths at the front?! I found a bug in my software (first time for ages) and had to re-do what happened a couple of times. There were a lot more deaths in one iteration! Anyway, bug fixed, I think, but let me know if you spot anything odd.

At Bill Hay's suggestion, the Greasy Pole is not showing expired appointments any more. Instead, characters who are getting the +1 modifier for re-applying for the same job are noted in the Announcements and shown in bold in the Applications list. Hopefully, this should be less confusing, but tell me what you think.

Absent friends

The following did not get orders to me and suffered the consequences.

Nothing from Steven Malecek (JC): 1 turn missed.

Tim Rattray asked for RlR to be floated as he's ill (get well soon, Tim).

Nothing from Jason Fazackarley (TTT) - I used his July orders for bravery/poltroonery - 1 turn missed.

Nothing from Ray Vahey (X1): 1 turn missed.

Notes

There’s an email group for En Garde! players and GMs, providing a forum to swap stories and ideas. Sign up at: groups.io

It is worth sending orders in even if they're a day or two late: it's possible I can still action the orders and will probably be able to use any press. It also reassures me that you're still out there.

Orders (and press) should be emailed to the LPBS orders e-mail address - you'll get an automated response when the message arrives in my mailbox. Please give your name and your character's name and specify actions in full detail. If you want a query answered before the deadline, please use the main LPBS email address.
