Fast Sloths (Faultier)
Sounds like a contradiction, doesn't it? Fast… Sloths? The trick is that the sloths (that's the players) don't move themselves. They piggy-back on other passing animals. The odd elephant, maybe; perhaps a passing eagle; or even a friendly crocodile…
This is actually a race game, with players' sloths aiming to collect their colour of leaf from the trees scattered across the board. However, as already noted, the sloths don't move. Instead, players play a set of cards for a particular animal and then move the pieces of that type – according to the rules for that animal. Thus the crocodiles tend to stick to the river, while the eagles can go anywhere.
While players want to play a set of cards for one animal, they pick up cards for several – and only one for each. This makes it tricky. Then there are different values of cards, and you really want to be picking up the higher values. Plus as your sloth gets more leaves, you can hold fewer cards. And that's before we get to the problem of other players moving the animal you wanted! Oh, it's tricky all right. And also good fun.
The first (!) expansion, The Next Holiday!, adds different boards to provide more variety to the layout.
