Finca

I have fond memories of playing the original edition of Finca (how can you forget the donkeys and the windmill?), so I was pleased to see a new edition. The setting is the island of Mallorca (or Majorca) where the players are fruit farmers trying to fulfill their customers' demands. (A finca is a farm or plantation.)

The 'windmill' is a roundel on which players move their farmer meeples (Mancala-style) to harvest fruit. This also gives them the donkey carts with which to deliver their fruit. By completing what's shown on one of the tiles around the island, players take the tile, which is worth points at the end.

It sounds simple enough, but that's before the other players get involved. On top of this, some clever tactical options can really mess up everybody's plans.

I now have the new (2024) edition from Pandasaurus, which expands the player count to five. (It does not include El Razul, the expansion to the original edition.)

For 2-5 players, aged 10+, playing time 45 minutes: £26.00 (£21.67 without tax outside the UK)
