MegaCity: Oceania
I have been drooling over this since I saw the prototype: a floating city built of translucent panels balanced on hexagonal cardboard tiles that you have to slide into place. It looks terrific – though not quite as brilliant as the box cover suggests.
The dexterity element is enough for me. However, the game is full of tactical considerations as well. First off, players construct their buildings to meet a specific contract: number of pieces, minimum height and so on. Just taking a contract has some tactical implications. Completing a contract scores points – and possibly bonuses – and may allow subsidiary actions. Players also have to have an eye on the bonuses available at the end.
All in all, this is a really ingenious mix of dexterity and tactics that I'm really looking forward to playing fully.
For 2-4 players, aged 8+, playing time 45-60 minutes: £32.00 Special offer: £25.00 (£20.83 without tax outside the UK) (or make me an offer...).
