This is the original version of this brilliantly simple little game from Reiner Knizia. It comprises a set of chunky numbered tiles – rather like Mah Jongg tiles in size and composition – and a set of dice. Players roll the dice, aiming to get the score needed to take a tile – from those available or from another player.
Once all the tiles have gone, players tot up their scores to find the winner. It's fast, furious and fun.
Pickomino is the title used for Rio Grande's US edition, but I have the multi-lingual edition, Heckmeck (am Bratwurmeck), from the German publisher which is exactly the same game. I also have the expansion, Heckmeck Extrawurm, and the new Deluxe edition.
For 2-7 players, aged 8+, playing time 20 minutes: £13.00 (£10.83 outside the EU)
