Pax Transhumanity
Eschewing the historical basis of the other games in the Pax series, Transhumanity looks at the different ways humankind might exceed the limits of its own biology. Is genetic engineering the way to go? Or transcribing our consciousness into computers? Or moving into space, so that we're not tied to a single, fragile planet?
Players must resolve humanitarian, political, societal and technological issues, breaking through the barriers and overcoming the setbacks to lead humanity to a utopian future. Maybe. It's certainly possible, but you need to win the game to succeed.
Mechanically, Pax Transhumanity uses (and tweaks) mechanisms from the earlier Pax games to create this world of potential futures. So it's essentially a card game, with players buying and using cards to advance their cause.
For 1-4 players, aged 12+, playing time 60-150 minutes: £35.00 (£29.17 outside the UK)
